Texas – Linda and Pamela Smith, Founders of Plus
Size P.O.W.E.R. Membership Club, announced that the organization will
be hosting its 2nd Annual “On The Red Carpet”
Holiday Fashion/Hair Show. The show is very unique to San
Antonio as it will feature plus size women from all over the USA
wearing clothing by Avenue, Fashion Bug, Catherine’s and
Torrid Stores. Penny Campbell of Beauty Connections will be
the featured hairstylist. In addition, Eboni Murrell, Miss
Teen Spirit Plus 2005 Queen, will crown her teen successor after an
evening gown presentation. This event will take
place at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 20th the Clarion Hotel/
Tropicana Resort (Coronado Ballroom), 110 Lexington Avenue, San
Antonio, Texas. Tickets can be purchased through the website
(www.plussizepower.com) or at the door. Partial ticket
proceeds will go to the Katrina Survivors.
Plus Size P.O.W.E.R. is a not for profit membership club that serves as
a support group to inspire/motivate women and teens, sizes 14 and
up. The organization’s mission statement
is: “We build confidence, celebrating the
curvaceous you. We teach women and teen to believe in
themselves and reach their fullest potential”. The
P.O.W.E.R. stands for Potential Of Women Everywhere Regardless of
Size. Sisters, Linda and Pamela Smith founded the club five
years ago. Linda Smith is a teacher’s assistance to special
needs children and is also a motivational speaker. For over
10 years, Linda has been a make-up, hair style and fashion
consultant. Pamela Smith is a former professional plus size
model and social worker. She currently holds the pageant
titles of Ms. Plus US All American, Ms. Texas Plus America Ambassador
and Ms. Texas Pretty Plus Princess 2005.
