San Antonio, Texas – Plus Size P.O.W.E.R. Membership Club announced the launch of their newest venture Plus Size P.O.W.E.R. USA National Teen and Adult Pageant (www.plussizepowerusa.com).  The Pageant is exclusively for plus size teens and adults, size 14 and larger. The organization is now accepting State delegates through September 2006 to compete at the National Pageant in separate divisions, from ages 13 to 50+.  Each State delegate will hold a platform/cause that is plus size related.  The POWER Board has appointed founder, Pamela Smith, as Ms. Plus USA Ambassador/Spokesperson for the pageant.  Plus Size P.O.W.E.R.’s Miss Teen Spirit Plus 2006 Queen, Brittany Fisher,  will serve as Miss Teen Plus USA Ambassador.  Co-founder, Linda Smith, was appointed as Ms. Plus Size P.O.W.E.R. USA Ambassador (ages 30-39 division) and Janett Berry as Ms. Plus Size P.O.W.E.R. USA Women (ages 50+ division).

The national event will take place on November 10-12, 2006 in San Antonio, Texas.  This year’s host hotel is the Radisson Downtown Market Square, located at 502 West Durango, San Antonio, TX  78207.  The event promises to be a fun-filled inspirational weekend, including a "Shades of Pink" Banquet, Talent Night, the "Live" Pageant and our 3rd Annual “On The Red Carpet” Plus Size Fashion Show featuring clothing from Avenue, Catherine and other plus size clothing stores.

Plus Size P.O.W.E.R. is a not for profit membership club that serves as a support group to inspire/motivate women and teens, sizes 14 and up.  The organization’s mission statement is:  “We build confidence, celebrating the curvaceous you.  We teach women and teen to believe in themselves and reach their fullest potential”.  The P.O.W.E.R. stands for Potential Of Women Everywhere Regardless of Size.  Sisters, Linda and Pamela Smith founded the club over five years ago. Linda Smith is a teacher’s assistance to special needs children and is also a motivational speaker.  For over 10 years, Linda has been a make-up, hair style and fashion consultant.  Pamela Smith is a former professional plus size model and social worker for over 15 years.
