Choosing the Right Skirt for Your Body Type
When it comes to dressing in a way that makes sense for your body type, few things are better than a well-fitting skirt. Coming as they do in every color, length and cut, skirts can play up your best features far more effectively than jeans or slacks. Nevertheless, choosing the perfect skirt can be a daunting task when you are faced with so many options. This article, with its rundown of basic skirt styles and the body shapes they suit best, aims to make the shopping process a little bit less overwhelming.
Pencil Skirts
If you can get your hands on a good pencil skirt, consider yourself lucky; given how closely this style is meant to hug your curves, finding one that fits well can be a challenge. Ideally, the skirt should have a high waist and hit just above the knees; the cut of this skirt is sexy, so the length should be conservative.

How To Make the Most Of Your Fuller Figure by Choosing the Right Lingerie
The following is a guest contribution made by Samantha Harvey from AmpleBosom.com – the home of plus-size bras and lingerie.

Too many women choose to feel self conscious and cover up their figure, rather than embracing their shape and finding flattering ways to celebrate it. Lingerie is available in every shape and size, designed to make women feel beautiful in their own skin. Understanding lingerie design will help any woman select lingerie that makes the most of her full figure and gives her the confidence she needs to look and feel great.
Sizing
The unfortunate truth is that selecting a lingerie style that is too tight, and that does not provide support will make a woman look lumpy and heavier than she is. Never select a size smaller than you need, and try everything on before you leave the store. Remember the goal is to look your best, so if you look your best in an 18 rather than a 16, embrace it.

Plus Size Style to Look Out for in 2012
Guest post by Katie Theisinger
Okay, with the holiday season and the sales safely out of the way, it’s time to look forward to what 2012 will bring us, fashion wise. Over the last few years, we’ve finally seen the fashion industry start to come to terms with the idea that larger women don’t want to wear floral tents, thank you very much, and as a result there’s a good deal more happening on the plus-size fashion stage for you to keep your eye out for.
Firstly, celebrated UK plus-size retailer Evans launched evansusa.com in October this year, so if you haven’t checked out their range yet, shame on you. There’s a good mix of basics alongside more eye-catching look-at-me pieces; and they’re claiming to add over a hundred new styles a week. We particularly like the leaf print maxi dress… it’s bright and bold without being too in-your-face, and cut well to flatter the curvier figure.

Best Hairstyles for Plus Size Women
by Sam H Smith
Plus size women face many unique challenges when it comes to beauty and fashion, from hairstyles to makeup, and clothes to shoes. Our bodies are different than the average woman’s, and we have just as many special considerations as the very petite woman, or even the very tall woman. Being plus sized is not a curse that should force us to shop as rarely as possible, and we should never be afraid to look and dress as sexy as we feel just because of our body size.

Plus Size Clothing: 5 Tips for Painless Shopping
by Alicia Rivera
Plus size clothing shopping is a pleasure for some full-figured women, and a chore for others. Whether you love it and shop twice a week, or hate it and shop twice a year, it can be a painless experience no matter what size you are. Use these plus size shopping tips to make your wardrobe hunt the fun experience it should be.
1. Know Your Measurements
Notice I didn’t say know your size. Your size will vary according to what you’re shopping for. The brand, style and sometimes even the fabric will make a difference. No two size 16′s are the same in my book. That goes for the clothes, and the women. So ask a trusted friend (it’s easier that way) and with a measuring tape, have them measure across the fullest part of your bust. Your natural waistline, and around the fullest part of your hips. Pull the measuring tape snug, not tight. Write these numbers down and tuck them in your purse. They will come in very handy, especially if you can’t or don’t want to try things on. — I recommend you try on clothes whenever possible, unless it’s something you’ve owned before.

The New Tarina Gown by IGIGI
The Tarina Gown is one of the newest dresses you can find at IGIGI by Yuliya Raquel. Each week IGIGI launch some gorgeous new styles… the love to tempt me you see
… and today I wanted to highlight one of my favorites from their new arrivals.
This gorgeous gown come in a gorgeous deep grape color and features a sexy plunging neckline and full length pleated skirt. It ships with a lovely detachable hand beaded belt – so you can choose to wear the dress either with or without the skirt. I recommend you try it out with the belt though, as it will help cinch in your waist. Up to a little over a year ago you wouldn’t have caught be wearing a belt ever, I though they accentuate by large stomach further, but how wrong I was! I tried on a wide belt with a tunic top from Fashion To Figure once, and I was won over. So if you have a belt phobia, I truly understand! But take the leap and see how you like it.
Back to the Tarina Gown by IGIGI, this dress is available up to size 30/32, and can be worn both on or off the shoulder. IGIGI recommends this dress for the following body shape: triangle, inverted triangle, hourglass, rectangle and figure eight body shape.

Trend Alert: Beautifully Brocade
Last week we looked at how faux fur vests are making headlines in the fashion world right now; and this week we’re looking at another trend which we’re starting to see more of and for good reason: brocade. This is a luxuriously rich fabric, usually silk, which is wovern with a raised pattern. The colors predominant in this type of fabric are gold or silver.
Torrid currently have a stunning collection of tops and dresses featuring dark hues, jewel embellishments and eye-catching brocades, which are oh so very glamorous and ideal for party hopping this Holiday season (and any other season really!).
Here are some must-see styles, all in puls sizes of course!
