Chubby Girl Records Launched

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008 | plus size news with 1 Comment

Joanne Brokaw noted in her blog post last Friday, that a brand new and very unique new label within the Gospel music industry was just launched, which is targeted exclusively to plus size women.

Sherrie Keys, a Gospel singer, has launched Chubby Girl Records, a label which celebrates and embraces gifted Gospel recording artists who just happen to be ‘pleasantly plump’. Founder Keys believes that gospel music marketing offers a compelling and unique opportunity to positively influence the way plus size women view their own bodies.

Besides the new label launch, Chubby Girl Records is also designing a clothing line targeing also the plus size market.

It will be very interesting to watch how this new label develops, and I cannot wait to have a look at the label’s first fashion collection as well. I’ll definitely keep you ladies updated when more news is out.

Why Pierce Brosnan Rocks

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008 | plus size celebrities, plus size news with No Comments »

Keely Shaye Smith and Pierce Brosnan

In a recent paparazzi coverage of Pierce Brosnan’s vacation in Hawaii with wife Keely Shaye-Smith, a lot of talk was made about Keely’s full figured body. It was no surprise at all that blogs and new articles simply said Keely had gone far beyond letting herself go, and should do something about her weight.

However it is just wonderful to hear that Keely is very happy and comfortable with her curves. And she doesn’t just thing so, she made this statement:

“I never shy away from colour or my curves. I like to play up my neckline and shoulders. If a jacket is pulling in the bust, I might just move the button an inch. But I never hide in baggy clothing.”

Furthermore, I think Pierce totally rocks, by having also stated that he thinks his curvy wife is stunning, and that he loved his wife’s curves! Way to go Pierce. It it so refreshing to see such a high profile actor embrace his wife’s natural beauty and not succumb to the stereotypical size 0 mania. Let’s hopes this serves as some inspiration to other men, who think they need a skinny thin woman besides them to be called a man.

Pierce, you totally rock!

New Day, New Design

Thursday, April 10th, 2008 | plus size news with 2 Comments

You have probably noticed a slower post frequency over the past few weeks. Besides being extremely busy, with a lot of things going on behing the scenes, the primary reason for this lack of posting was the re-design of the blog!

There is much more to this re-design than meets the eye. I finally went through with something that had been on my mind for a number of months: moving the blog from Blogger to WordPress. It was quite a feat, but I managed to get through it! All past post links should still be working, however I apologize in advance if you come across any errors whilst browsing the blog. I am still in the process of ironing out some final things, but the bulk of the re-design is over.

So I’m kicking off the new day with a brand new design for the blog! Yeay :)

Besides a sleeker look, this re-design allows for more customization, as well as interaction. Commenting on blog posts is now much easier! You do not need to leave the post pages or register at all. A small form is available below every post (on individual pages), which allows you to write away, and have your say! So I definitely encourage you all to comment on the posts here.

And why not start right away? Have your say and let me know what you think of the new site design, just leave your thoughts below.

Avenue named November’s Store of the Month

Tuesday, November 6th, 2007 | plus size news with No Comments »

If you have visited the main page of Pasazz.net over the weekend, you should have noticed that we have a new store of the month! In fact November’s store of the month is Avenue, as it has proven to be a great resource for plus size women during these holiday days.

In this mont’s store, I was looking for variety, style, versatility and efficiency.

  • Variety in the sense that it needed to provide a lot of options for clothing, so whether someone was looking for an outfit to wear at an office party, or a formal gown to wear at a New Year’s Even ball, they were to find it.

  • Style is pretty obvious. The items offered needed to be stylish, figure flattering and in fashion.

  • Versatlity in the way it would let you shop. It needed to carry a great range of both clothing, footwear, as well as items that can make perfect gifts.

  • Efficiency in the way the store let you shop around and complete your holiday shopping needs.

All of the above criteria were completel met by Avenue, hence they have been named November’s Plus Size Clothing Store of the Month. Do visit Avenue to shop through their collection, and read more about why it was named this month’s top choice.
