How The Right Underwear Can Enhance Your Curves
So many people have the idea that what we wear underneath has to be painfully uncomfortable in order to be sexy. This simply is not true! There are many styles and types of undergarments available today, for women of all sizes. Today plus size women have many choices in undergarments!
Let’s take a ride on the curvier side of the undergarment market and take a peek at some tips to help you take the stress out of buying underwear!
Get Fitted, or Fit Yourself
The first rule of buying underwear is that you should always take measurements. Sometimes a slight adjustment in any one measurement (especially when it comes to bra sizes) can mean needing a totally different size. You can find measurement charts for your specific country or area of the world online. It is crucial to ensure your measurements are accurate. Use a soft tape measure – hard or metal tape measures will give you a false reading. If all else fails, a local shop may be able to do a free fitting for you. Once you are fitted, you can look at purchasing your undergarments online and saving a ton of money.
Let Your Body Dictate Your Style
Your body is a miraculous thing, curves and all. In order to show off your curves, you will want to buy bras and panties that suit your particular body type. Though there are a few different opinions on this subject, there are some basic guidelines to follow.
Bras, Bras, Bras – Not All Are Good
For bras, there are a couple of options. There is under-wire bras, which have a wire guide built into the fabric on the underside of the cup. These provide extra lift if you have particularly large breasts. For those with smaller breasts, a soft cup bra may be more comfortable. Bras also come with, or without padding. Though some women assume that the push up bra is only made for smaller breasts, this is not always the case! A woman with larger breasts can also benefit from a properly fitting push up bra, as it will help to separate and define the breasts.
Skivvies, Underwear, Panties, Pantaloons
We have many names for them, but they all serve the same basic role. So why do we torture ourselves over buying them? It doesn’t have to be this way! It seems that there are also a few basic guidelines for underwear that a girl can follow.
Underwear styles are all made for different reasons – each style serves a purpose of its very own. Generally speaking, don’t grab the first pair that looks fabulous. Try to think about where you will wear them and buy something suited to that situation. If you are going to be wearing them to the gym, you want something with complete coverage and a strong, elastic waist band. Thong panties are meant to prevent underwear lines from being visible through your outer clothes; while boy shorts are meant to give more coverage to those who desire it. On the other hand, if you are going on date night with your partner, you may want to consider something a little racier!
The Most Important Thing To Remember
In the end, the number one thing to remember is to do your research. There is a phenomenal set of undergarments out there for every woman, and it is not difficult to discover what works for you. What is important is that you feel as cool, confident and sexy as you truly are in whatever underwear you choose!
